Bisping Flips someone off during weigh ins

At the UFC 110 weigh ins just a few hours ago, Michael Bisping weighed in before Wanderlei Silva and flips someone off while on the scale after his weight was announced. Who could he be flipping off? Wanderlei was still back stage, and it appeared to be a joke because he laughed, but the question still remains-who was he flipping off?! Hopefully someone interviews him and asks about this. But the weigh ins for the co main event gave us a preview of the entertainment this fight will provide (Dana had to hold back Wanderlei during the staredown). Check back tomorrow for a LIVE AND FREE STREAM of UFC 110!

Dream Fights All MMA Fans Want To See!

The UFC has done a great job creating exciting cards for the upcoming events. UFC 111 has two title bouts on the card, and so does UFC 112. The free events to be aired on Spike and Versus has some great bouts that the fans can enjoy, and of course UFC 113 just got finalized bouts (check here for some of the fights on the card!) that are sure to entertain. But I'm sure many MMA fans are eager for Dana White and Joe Silva (UFC Matchmaker) to create some more mega fights similar to BJ Penn vs GSP.
  1. Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida vs Anderson "The Spider" Silva
Anderson Silva is without a doubt one of the top 3 pound for pound fighters in the world, some argue Fedor is first, but many would argue Silva is the top pound for pound fighter. Machida has a very elusive style and his opponents find it very difficult to hit him. Silva has proved he can take on  fighters in the Light Heavyweight division (UFC 101 against Griffin) and I believe Silva has the style and footwork to be a challenge to Machida.
  2.  George "Rush" St.Pierre vs Anderson Silva
  3. George St. Pierre is ranked above Silva in some fan's minds, while most people agree Silva is the top pound for pound fighter. I think this fight should be a main event of a UFC card before GSP pursues his dream of joining the Canadian Olympic wrestling team and Silva goes into retirement.
  4. Fedor Emelianenko vs Brock Lesnar
  5. Fedor is best placed as the 3rd best pound for pound fighter in the world behind Silva and GSP. Dana White has been trying to get Fedor into the octagon (although some things he says spites Fedor, he has been trying to sign him). Brock has also expressed interest in fighting Fedor (check this video and skip to about 2 minutes) so hopefully Fedor will sign with the UFC so we can see a truely entertaining heavyweight bout.
  6. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs Rashad "Suga" Evans
  7. After TUF season 10, the hype about the rampage vs Rashad fight has gone through the roof and every fight fan wants to see this fight! This bout was supposed to take place at UFC 107 but due to Rampage's role in the new A-team movie, the fight was cancelled. However, we should see this fight on the main event of UFC 114 if all goes well!

UFC 113 Finalized Match-Ups

UFC 113 will take place in Montreal, Canada on May 8th and the main event will be a highly anticipated re-match between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua. But the UFC made several other exciting match-ups official today, look at the fight card below!
Co-Main Event- Josh Koscheck vs Paul Daley (this bout could determine the next top contender for the Welterweight title)
Sam Stout vs. Jeremy Stephens
Patrick Cote vs. Alan Belcher
Marcus Davis vs. Jonathan Goulet
TJ Grant vs. Johny Hendricks
and finally, UFC funny guy Tom Lawlor vs. Tim Credeur

(Tom Lawlor at the UFC 100 weigh in--watch the video below for an explanation!)

Anthony Johnson Out Of UFC On Versus 1

After UFC 106, many fans of Anthony Johnson were eager to see him step back into the octagon. However, Johnson has pulled out of the UFC on Versus main card due to a knee injury. He was scheduled to face John Howard on March 21, however he will now be replaced with Daniel Roberts (13-4 professional record). Roberts will be making his UFC debut during this event, so even though fans may be disappointing we will not be seeing Johnson step back into the octagon, we could see a upcoming star in the UFC.

UFC 112 is now Silva vs Maia

Due to injury, Vitor Belfort will no longer be challenging Anderson Silva for the title. UFC 112 was to make history with the first UFC event in the UAE, Abu Dhabi specifically. Ferari world in Abu Dhabi is currently making an outdoor arena in the center of the park to host the event, with an octagon right in the center. Silva vs Belfort was going to be a very fair match up as Belfort was the top contender for the Middleweight crown. Next up would be Chael Sonnen, but due to a forehead laceration which he obtained in his fight against Nate Marquardt, he would not be cleared in time for UFC 112. Demian Maia will recieve his shot at the title as the 3rd top contender for the title, and after that, we could see Belfort get his shot against the winner (my bet is on Silva!), and then Sonnen should get his shot. Keep checking back for UFC updates!

Joe Rogan Doesn't Just Commentate on Fights

Watch this hilarious clip of a mishap at UFC 109 during the bout between Melvin Guillard vs. Ronnys Torres. You probably didn't see this because it was during the undercard!

New UFC Undisputed 2010 Updates!

First update: who will be on the cover! As you can see below, the cover will feature Brock Lesnar! Why him? Dana White says it is because of his "intensity and relentless commitment to the sport of mixed martial arts, as well as to the UFC."
I would have liked to see someone more like BJ Penn or Anderson Silva who has dominated their weight division, but Brock is now back and should be around for a while.
Also some new fixes to gameplay include:
- New southpaw stance!
- Ability to sway entire upper body and head to evade
- Ability to throw more powerful, fight ending strikes from any position/posture
- All these along with the updates listed in the post below!

Also new in the UFC:
After his fight with UFC Hall of Famer, Randy Couture, Mark Coleman recieved 60,000 while Couture received 250,000 (without bonuses) and was cut from the UFC. Many believed he fought his last fight back at UFC 100 fighting Stephen Bonnar, but he was able to pull the upset and managed to get another fight in. However, this fight will be his last in the UFC according to Five Ounces of Pain

Also new in the UFC:
Martin "The Hitman" Kampmann will not be fighting in the UFC 111 main card. Various internet rumors say he was injured while training and is expected to be replaced by Jake Ellenberger, who defeated Mike Pyle by TKO in the second round back at UFC 108. This news is coming one week after the card was finalized with the addition of the Jon Fitch-Thiago Alves bout.

UFC Undisputed 2010 Upgrades

Recently, Gamespot conducted a Q&A with one of the designers behind UFC Undisputed 2010, Omar Kendall. UFC Undisputed 2009 was a great game that was fun to play, but everyone would agree there are some tweaks that are needed to make the gameplay really fluid and make the experience great and not just good. After reading through the Q&A here are some of the improvements I am most excited about:
  • The ability to visit camps in training. Also you can work on individual moves you want to learn or get better at.
  • Better alignment for clinch gappling and ground grappling which gives the player more control
  • you can employ the cage during the fight
  • Online fight camps allow players to unite in a camp to unlock new milestones and rewards
  • Addition of Samba, Karate, and Greco Roman wrestling to fighter disciplines, and a grappling style that allows fighters to learn moves as they see them
The gameplay should be much better with this release, can't wait to get my hands on a copy after it is released on May 21!
