Nate Marquardt at UFC 109

Back at UFC 73, Nate Marquardt got a title shot at Anderson Silva, and lost at 4:50 of the first round due to KO. After Marquardt's loss, Damien Mia (a very strong grappler) was thought to be the top contender for the belt, but that was shut down after losing to Marquardt with one right hand that ended the fight at 21 seconds of the first round at UFC 102. Now, Marquardt is right back up for title contention. Vitor Belfort surpassed Marquardt on getting a title shot as he is fighting at UFC 112 against Silva in Abu Dhabi, but if Marquardt wins against Chael Sonnen at UFC 109 this Saturday, he could move back up to top contender for the belt. But Marquardt will not be distracted by the temptation of getting a shot at the Middleweight title, and is focused on winning his upcoming fight.
